Dubai — December 16, 2019 — General Manager (Middle East Region) of Takeda Pharmaceuticals, Takafumi Horii was honored with the “Top 100 Healthcare Leaders” award for his contributions to the healthcare industry at IFAH — International Forum on Advancements in Healthcare (formerly known as the Smart Health Conference). The international conference was held at Le Meridien, Dubai on December 16–18, 2019.

A corporate executive with 20 years of extensive business experience in pharma, high-tech, and IT industries, he is currently spearheading the growth of Takeda Pharmaceuticals in 17 countries.

Mr. Horii is also a member of ICMEA (India, CIS, Middle East, Turkey, and Africa) Leadership Team. He played a critical role in preparing and executing post-merger integration of Takeda’s acquisition of Shire PLC in the region. While being an integral part of a leading biopharmaceutical company, he has also accepted a leadership role in the industry as a member of the Executive Committee of PhRMA Middle East & Africa.

The “Top 100 Healthcare Leaders” award is a recognition conceptualized by IFAH to felicitate individuals for ideating innovations in healthcare. A subsidiary of Prism Events, IFAH aims to set a standard of excellence in the realm of healthcare services and delivery by honoring the brightest leaders and organizations from all around the world. With the three-day conference coming to a successful end, IFAH is planning to organize biannual conferences with the hope to further establish its presence in Asia-Pacific and MENA nations.
