Marie B.V. Olesen Recognized With The “Top 100 Healthcare Visionaries” Award at IFAH Las Vegas, 2020–21

Las Vegas, Nevada — June 28, 2021 — Marie B.V. Olesen, CEO of La Jolla Cosmetic, was honored with the “Top 100 Healthcare Visionaries” award for her exceptional contributions to the healthcare industry at the fifth edition of IFAH — International Forum On Advancements In Healthcare, held at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas, USA on June 23–25, 2021.

Marie is a well-known innovator in the realm of cosmetic patient care and communication. She and her husband, Dr. R. Merrel Olesen, MD, founded La Jolla Cosmetic — Surgery Centre and Medical Spa (LJCSC) in San Diego, CA, in 1988, a time when there was a lack of understanding of the varied needs of cosmetic surgery patients. Now, she leads the practice which is known for offering world-class patient experiences. It subsequently developed innovative patient care and communication systems that have been adopted throughout the plastic surgery industry.

Marie is passionate about exploring patient feedback for insights that can help LJCSC and other practices better serve their patients. To help consumers in their cosmetic surgery shopping process, Marie and Dr. Olesen co-authored “Cosmetic Surgery For Dummies” in 2005. She is also a nationally and internationally recognized speaker on innovative patient care and consumer topics and is a contributing author to The Business of Plastic Surgery.

Her impactful projects, her leadership capabilities, and her commitment to improving patient experiences led to her nomination and ultimately, to her selection for the prestigious honor.
